“I got into the mental health field because I love people. My mother was a loving person and taught me that people shouldn’t have to experience pain or prejudice in order to be different than others. I have had the good fortune of people sharing their experiences with me since I was a child and I had a sense of when someone needed friendship and support. I started out as a candy striper in nursing homes, managed a mental health practice for psychologists, and psychiatrists and that started the path for me to pursue my education at ISU and at UNLV, Las Vegas. My first experience in the social work program was volunteering at Rape Crisis Center. That is where working with children and adults that had experienced trauma became my passion. Over the past 25 years I have great opportunities to work in the community as a clinician on the mental health crisis team; was part of the start up teams for drug court, mental health court; and Wood court, the crisis center, and developed the first behavioral health center in eastern Idaho that provided fully integrated medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.”
Lisa’s passion is to assist individuals, couples, and families to tap into their strengths and to develop skills to be in charge of their lives.
Lisa is an Idaho Falls native and enjoys time with her sons and grandchildren.
